News from a Mud Hut
On 19th March a huge wind, rain and hail storm came through Lukodi and blew off the school’s roof (yes you read that right). None of the girls or staff that was at the center at the time was harmed or injured. The rooms that were damaged include the main classroom, the nursery room, the kindergarten (pre-school) room and the bead room. We did manage to salvage many things but many things have also been lost. Books and toys from the kindergarten (pre-school) and nursery rooms were destroyed and some of our musical instruments have been rendered useless. All of the paper and unvarnished beads from the bead room was lost. Small gardens of vegetables were destroyed as well as our new papaya tree. Luckily, the girl’s dormitory and our huts were undamaged. I believe that many of the bead woman’s huts were also damaged in the storm. I am hoping to visit huts in the community tomorrow to assess the damage. I will keep you updated as I obtain more information. Please pray for God’s protection and provision. Any prayers, messages of encouragement or assistance you can give us will be greatly appreciated.
